Refreshing Music Mix Oct 24, 2008 WOW, "After My Time", where shall I begin? E-V-E-R-Y CD track on this project is the BOMB to me!! This youthful artist exhibits an exceptional natural & creative gift to arrange sounds that integrate hip-hop style & old school R&B soul (namely The Dynamic Superiors and Norman Connors) rhythms, harmonies, melodies, and lyrics that are exceptionally pleasing to this listener. The debut of "The River" on the Steve Harvey radio broadcast prompted me to purchase the CD and I was most impressed when I discovered the songful genius that is Noel Gourdin!! New to the national music scene, this modest brother (I've met him) undoubtedly already had "arrived" long before the release of this Masterpiece. If I seem to appear partial, What Can I Say? It Is What It Is. I am extremely elated that I moved beyond unfamiliarity to find this admirably refreshing music mix....an AWESOME production that is HIGHTLY RECOMMENDED!!
FANTASTIC!! Oct 21, 2008 This is one of my favorite CDs. I was so excited about it, I shared it with my husband; unfortunately, he didn't share my enthusiasm. But I don't even care, because that just means I get to listen to it that much more since I don't have to share with him. This cat is phenomenal!! I'd say my favorite cut is "Led You On" and a close second is "PYT". Our 9 year old son really likes "The River" and enjoys singing along with it. (He's an old soul who likes the sound of "old school" music.) I'm already anxiously awaiting his next CD.
She Loves It! Oct 20, 2008 My fiance was infatuated by the hit song on the albulm entitled "The River" I previed the other tracks online and I thought that she would like this one, since she loves Anthony Hamilton. She took it, drove to work and called me and said "yes babe I love it Thank You sooooo Much!"
Noel Gourin; Smooth as Silk! Oct 15, 2008 Noel Gourdin's project has the smooth soul of several who have come before him; yet stood the test of time and experience and had long-lasting success in the music making business. His music and voice has a old-soul, yet warm and familiar feel to it. Much continued success to you, Noel! Fantastic first effort! Enjoy listening to it immensely!

3½ stars - A very solid debut. Oct 01, 2008 Until about two months ago, I had absolutely no clue who Noel Gourdin was. It was then that I saw the video for his amazing first single, "The River," on VH1 Soul and knew I had to get this album. The album pretty much came out of nowhere (he needs more promotion), but I'm glad it did. "The River," a beautiful ode to a past love interest, remains my favorite song of the set, but Gourdin has many other great songs to offer on here. The opener, "One Love," is a strong, soulful, and melodic track. It should definitely be the next single, if there is one. "Open" is a catchy and entrancing mid-tempo. "Reach" was another favorite of mine. It's has a great melody and even better, a great message: stay with your true love through the thick and thin and look for a brighter day, especially when he's trying his best to please and provide for you. "Make the Most" encourages the listener to not be pety by holding grudges, and to cherish loved ones while they're still living. Near the second half of the album, there are a few less memorable songs. My least favorite was "Led You On," which was way too pop/rock for me. Overall, though, this album has a lot of great songs and it's an excellent start for Noel. I just sincerely hope he is given the opporunity to release a sophomore LP.
