Motivational music, a classic Nov 20, 2008 Best rap album of 2008. Killer Mike has always had tremendous energy; here he's absolutely unleashed. He's improved in almost every way since his early releases, and he was a charismatic, intelligent and skilled MC before. He's also picked some great tracks which cohere well despite the size of the production stable.
Picks include: "Can You Hear Me", "God In The Building", "I Gotcha", "Pressure", "2 Sides", "Big Money, Big Cars", the intro, and more. Yeah, that's a lot, but not because I'm easily impressed, this album is just that strong. This is brilliant, inspirational music. If you like rap, or think you might, buy this record.
4.5 star from Killer Mike Sep 25, 2008 It's been 2 years since his first installment of his "I Pledge Allegiance..." albums, and Killer Mike returns with another solid album and one worth 4.5 stars. Though I only have his "Monster" album (which I'd give a solid 4 stars), I was impressed by that album and again I'm impressed with this one. With 16 songs on her, 2 are ok, 2 are almost classic, the other 12 are good, most being real good songs. Guests are a little heavy, on 12 of the 16 songs, half they are rapping and the other half are just doing the hooks. Production is nice as well. Young Sears and CKP each do 2 songs, Wonder Aillo, tha Bizness, Cutmaster Swift, the Cancer, Tyrice Jones, Chris Clark, XP, Smiff & Cash, B Don, Drugs, Tec beats and Malay all do 1 song. A very good album to have and will be one of th etop 10-15 % of albums that get released this year.

Getting Rich INDependently Aug 01, 2008 Killer mike is undoubtedly one of the more outstanding rappers to emerge from the south this decade. From his early upbringing with Outkast and the dungeon family where he proclaimed he'd "catch the beat running like Randy Moss" to now Killer Mike has only gotten better with time. Known for his aggressive style with a very political and insightful side, Killer Mike is one of those rare breed of mc's who is able to effectively communicate with all the hip hop community whether it be the streets or the more casual fan. For those not in the loop, Killer's style is half ice cube half Bun B.
It pains me to see Killer Mike struggle in the record business because he is clearly one of the best rappers out today. Killer Mike's cd grossed a whopping 4000 copies in the first week! I couldn't believe that at all Blame it on very poor promotion, no video, no youtube, and no single but still he could have rode around in a hoopty and sold more copies than that straight out the trunk. But as always Killer Mike doesn't disappoint on this album. I Pledge Allegiance To The GRIND II (getting rich independently) is quite possibly his greatest achievement to date. Perfectly meshing social commentary with hard hitting southern culture and dirty south beats Killer Mike comes out on top. With legends like Ice Cube and Eightball & MJG making appearances, this album is completely fire. The songs that stand out the most to me are Can You Hear me, 2 Sides, God In The Building, Pressure, I Woke Up This Morning, If I Can't Eat Right, and Grandma's House but the rest of the album is fire as well. I highly recommend this Killer Mike album as the soundtrack to your success. Killer Kill from da Ville! Pick it up ASAP and support one of the more talented artists grinding in today's music industry.
