WOW Oct 30, 2008 This album kicks serious a**! It is so electifying to listen to Bones, End has a Start and others. You will be shaking your hips, hair and everything else if you are into indie dance, post-punk
Editors End Has A Start Jun 25, 2008 I find this album to be a better album than their first one with a more focused sound, expanding on their craft and putting them in par with Joy Division and Interpol's Turn on the Bright Lights therefore making a case for continuing their style and not changing a thing just because some might say that they are not unique but then I would say why does that matter if it is great.

Looking for descriptives Jun 12, 2008 The Editor's "An End Has a Start" is one of those albums that sounds really grand, with an epic scope and a certain depressing grandeur. But it has little by way of memorable songs. After several weeks of listening, there's little that stays in my mind or draws me back for further listening.
There are a few songs that make for cool stylistic comparisons. "Smokers Outside The Hospital Doors" recalls Interpol and there are a few hints of Simple Minds or U2, especially in the Edge-like guitar of leader Tom Smith. It's moody and competent, but not particularly memorable. Fans of Interpol, Bloc Party and other Joy Division acolytes might enjoy, but The Editors don't sound like they're fully connected on "An End Has a Start."

Unexpected surprise Apr 18, 2008 I bought this CD after viewing their video for An End Has A Start. Loved the song and hoped that at least some of the other songs would be as powerful. I was pleasantly surprised to find ALL the songs on this CD are great. There is a mixture of slow and fast songs which may put some people off. However, the slower songs have lyrics so great that it makes up for their lack of speed. I've had this CD in my car player since my purchase and play it nearly every day. That is rare for me. Highly recommend.

fantastic sohphomore release Feb 25, 2008 While I am not quite sure if the cd is superior to their first release, this by no means is a disappointing sophomore attempt.
"An End Has a Start" has a little more variety. There are more slow, melodic ballad types on here, which they pull off nicely.
You'll hear a lot of people comparing this band to other bands, especially Joy Division. Now, I absolutely love Joy Division, but unless you're the band who invents a genre (like Joy Division did) you're more than likely going to resemble another band. Okay, so there are some similarities, but if I was in a band, I would most likely resemble my inspirations as well...
Give the band a chance because they rock. Their two cds were probably my most played 2006-2007 new band, which is saying a lot.
