sweet jones Oct 25, 2008 bun-b is one of the most respected cats in hip-hop and is crazy lyrical too. pimp c (RIP) had some of the illest swagger hip hop has ever seen (I pack an iron e'ry time and i aint tryin die...pssy ngga <--haha, i love dat sht!)
this is my favorite album from 07 hands down, and Int'l playas anthem was my favorite banger from the year too. It's groups like UGK that make me wonder how people hate on the south period
I love this album, it still gets pretty heavy rotation on my deck
One of the BEST rap albums of 2007 Sep 01, 2008 Hands down classic material, hardly any skippable tracks. You should check out every UGK album too, ESPECIALLY their solo albums. Pimp C and Bun B have been making classic material for YEARS.
These beats are full of country twang, and deep tight bass. The lyrics are very creative for typical rap topics, slick and witty. Both discs are full of great songs, especially the first. UGK REALLY shines on this album and you should REALLY pick it up if you like rap even a little bit.
The songs are especially great to ride to, they will make you feel like your on top of the world. Great old school/new school rap tunes. Their are a lot of guests but thats not a problem, Pimp C and Bun B have enough mic time and they SHINE.
For a quick taste peep "Swishas and Doja", "The Game Belongs to Me", and "My Candy". RIP PIMP C, cant wait for the new (and last) UGK album!
LAST HURRAH Jun 13, 2008 Being this album is a double disc, there is bound to be some throw aways. But surprisingly there weren't too many. Most of the beats are great, both rappers don't slack off with the rhymes, you can tell they mean what they say. Too bad Pimp C died because loads of stuff on this album has become some of my favorite UGK material, they also would have made better stuff in the future so it's sad to see something like that end, he was a great producer and I loved his raps as well. The only thing I disliked was the guest spots, nothing great and it's better just the 2 of them.
