Music grew on me... Now I love it! Feb 25, 2008 I didn't anticipate too much from Michael's latest CD. His style has been changing slightly in his latest releases, including Worship and Worship Again, and I felt like I had been moving on to new artists.
I decided to purchase this CD, mostly in order to get super shipping on my order. On the first time through, there were a few songs that pleasantly surprised me, and a handful that I wasn't excited about. As I have listened to the CD more, each of these songs has grown on me. There is not a song on the CD that I do not enjoy now. I am very glad that I made this purchase.
If you do not like this CD on the first pass, do not put it down. Give it a little more time. You may find that you like it after all.
It's his best work Yet! Jan 12, 2008 Stand Is Michael W. Smith Best work yet, his last two CD's were a let down but this one shows his got it back and is at the top of his game!

Stand....an awesome CD by a terrific artist Sep 06, 2007 I went to see Michael W. Smith in concert after having bought a couple of his CD's. He is phenomenal! The group of us that went to the concert loved it! I loved his last Christmas CD but I believe "Stand" is his best CD yet! And guess what??? He has another Christmas CD coming out this fall. YES! I love to exercise to Stand. It just gets me motivated and full of joy. The workout is easy and so relaxing when you are listening to something so wonderful.

Still good, Smitty Aug 10, 2007 I'm not really too keen on all the songs on this album, but it seems a good reflection of Michael W. Smith's maturity. After 20+ years as a recording artist, he has earned the right to offer up an album where he can have a crack at worship.
Track 4, however, is a real Smitty jem. How To Say Goodbye, inspired by taking his daughter to college, is excellent. Lyrics, voice and music combined into a classic Michael W. Smith masterpiece.

Smitty Lays an Egg Jul 17, 2007 Big MWS fan here since 1990. This is the one blemish on a career I'd call nothing but remarkable and well deserved. There is just nothing here that is accessible and moves the listener. I have tried but do not share the sentiments of others regarding this release. Reviews seem largely mixed here. Starts bland and stays there the whole way through. Michael is a great talent that I have enjoyed immensely through the years but STAND mainly "SITS" idly in my cd cabinet. I'll revisit it every once in a while but it just simply fails to make it all the way through. Come on Smitty, we need a comeback on the next effort.
