Any theories on why they chopped out so much good stuff?? Dec 10, 2007 seems like kind of a rip
I may consider buying it, but for now am
holding off due to the axing of "Live Forever" :-(

unusually disappointing Nov 06, 2007 Yes I agree with the other reviews that the artists on this release are all GREAT & that Nat West "live At Austin" has generally been of the most high standard.
Which is why this dvd surprises me. Only 47 minutes with at least 30 minutes of sensational material missing !!!
eg. Willie singing "sitting in limbo", Kris "here comes that rainbow again" & his song about Sam Peckinpah, BillyJoe "live forever" etc etc
They've also omitted a lot of amusing banter.
This could have been one of the BEST in the series but it's turned out far less than it should have been

A Great Look at Some Great Artists Dec 09, 2006 This is the third installment of the Austin City Limits series I've purchased and I have yet to be disappointed. Outlaw Country is a rare look at some truly revolutionary country artists. They all play off each other very well and the overall feel of the show is very relaxed- just a group of writers singing songs that mean something to them. Kris, Waylon, and Willie have played together many times before and seem to truly enjoy it. None of them disappoint. Kimmie Rhodes more than holds her own among the legends. The only weak points in the show for me were Billie Joe Shaver's performances. I'm a fan of his work, but here he just doesn't seem quite up to his usual level. Only a minor complaint, however. The bottom line is if you're into any of these artists and would like to see them in a lower key setting, you really can't go wrong. Waylon's "I'd Have Been Out of Jail" is worth the price alone, especially since this seems to be the only recording of it available.
