Never gone....to BAD! Apr 23, 2008 BSB just get lost, these guys are really robots that they put tapes inside their backs so they can lipsync live. Just so you know. No guy is this senitive girls so stop looking, 40 yr old boys this sensitive means they wont be into you.
Let talent be your gude Feb 02, 2008 Before you read this review, you must know that I'm an 'over-40' male and have everything from Black Sabbath to Bill Monroe in my music collection. I truly think it's a shame that you have to dress a certain way or act like jerks to avoid being labeled a 'boy band.' This 'boy band' is nothing more than indescribable talent- pure, musical and completely enjoyable. These guys have the essence of the Four Seasons, Jackson 5, and any other previous 'boy band' you can bring to the table. This album is a fine piece of work, as a stand alone or mixed with anything that could be labled pop- yesterday or today. I just listened to this for the first time and have been kicking myself for not exploring it sooner. The feeling in the songs and the tight harmonies are emotive for the soul and pleasing to the ear. You may have something against boy bands, but there's no denying talent. Jealousy breeds contempt, I suppose. Bring me something that compares in the pop/rock realm today. Well done, Backstreet Boys!
Backstreet's back Jan 27, 2008 Well, after almost 5 years, the boys are back with a whole new style. The guys used live instruments instead of drum loops and synthesizers, creating a less "cheesy" sound. I like this cd a lot, but one thing that was really missing was the fun upbeat music the boys used to record. Although there were a few upbeat songs, they left me dissapointed. Especially poster girl. What ever happened to the oh so innocent Quit Playing Games (with my heart)? Don't get me wrong, its still one of my favorite cds in my collection, and with tons of romantic ballads, its hard to even notice whats wrong.
If upbeat dance songs are what you're looking for here, you won't find them. If that's what you're looking for, get the newest backstreet album Unbreakable. However, if ballads are your thing, this is the album for you.
nice try dumb @$$ Jan 26, 2008 back street boys doing rock.
and i think the world has offically gone to hell.
as an old fan ( me being a fan since childhood, but not actually old)
i think that bsb had a golden formula: catchy beats, lovely lyrics, and power ballads. they were/are still the best of the best of the boy band era.
say what you want, but backstreet boys are never going to be the beatles but thats ok. because when they bust out with their addictive sugary pop music its ok to listen because they are what they are: a sugary pop band.
