LETS NOT BE GROWN ABOUT THIS...AHHHHHHHH!!!! Nov 15, 2008 I have to say, I am taken back and forced forward as I view this EPIC DVD! No joke! A true D2 girls night in...cocktails grub and D2. I am taken to a wonderful visual place that enabled me to grow and be the woman as I am today with the MTV and VH1-whatta rush! Ive been to 3 Astronaut and 3 Red Carpet massacre gigs in NY & NJ. I have not lost my BOYS. I still have that UMPH that compels me. Simon's voice, the band---I can't complain. Its a given, Simon LEBON does it for me vocally, visually and imaginatively.
If I cannot stray form my beautiful husband, a D2 dvd is foreplay for a night a selatious intimacy betwix husband and wife. By the way, Simon's voice still gives me OOOOOOOOOOOas.
Thank you MR LEBON.

There's a REASON why they call this "Greatest" Apr 05, 2006 England's Fab five have rounded up all their hits (with a bonus DVD!) on this spectacular greatest hits album. What's not to like? They're the greatest group of the 80's, 90's, and 00's!!

What an amazing collection! Jan 27, 2006 I graduated from high school in 1986, so how could I not be a Duran Duran fan? But their late 80s/early 90s stuff never held as much appeal to me, and my interest in the band faded over the years. Happily, this amazing collection of their "Greatest" has rekindled my enthusiasm for this awesome group and their unique sound.
I attribute my love of these CD in large part to the masterful sequencing of the songs. "Is There Something I Should Know?" is not necessarily one of my top picks, but it definitely start things off right with its catchy beat. The strong rhythms continue with the next two tunes, "The Reflex" and "A View to a Kill" (I always find that the latter stays in my head for days afterward). Then, the tone of the album changes with the moody "Ordinary World," an offering from 1993's altered band that I had previously ignored but am now quite partial too, and "Save a Prayer," a sentimental favorite. Several other songs from the mega-hit album Rio come next, followed by the best two tracks from their very first album, "Girls on Film" and "Planet Earth."
By this point in the CD (about halfway through), I don't even mind that there are four songs in a row from the previously-dreaded late 80s/early 90s era. The next five tunes are all more recent (1990s/2000) offerings, and to my surprise, I found each one of these to be incredibly fun, upbeat, and amazingly familiar, although there were actually two that I hadn't heard before ("All She Wants Is" and "Electric Barbarella," a homage to the movie which gave the band its name). Finally, the compilation draws to a close with "Come Undone," another gem from the group's 1983 incarnation.
So, if all of the above weren't enough, this deluxe CD also comes with a bonus DVD featuring twelve of the band's videos, including the often-talked-about but rarely-seen uncut version of "Girls on Film." If you are a fan of Duran Duran in any way, shape, or form, don't hesitate to buy this DVD--I promise, you will not be disappointed.

I Think This Was A Good Idea Sep 19, 2005 I purchased the Duran Duran greatest hits CD when it was originally released in 97 or 1998. In 2003 the Duran Duran video compilation was released by EMI. The two disc dvd set included a lot of "Easter Eggs" and hidden content. Some of it was hard to find, others not so hard. It included the videos for the songs that were featured on the "Greatest" CD but also included the video for "The Chauffeur."
This set from EMI/Capital included the "Greatest" CD and it includes a scaled down version of the DVD which was released in 2003. For the most part you get the really popular Duran Duran videos. The only post 1985 video included on the set is "Ordinary World." There are no alternate versions of the videos. The DVD includes 12 videos. For "Girl on Film" the long uncensored version is here. For "New Moon On Monday" (edit version 1) is included. The long arena version of "Wild Boys" is included. This is a great set for the casual Duran Duran fan who just doesn't need every extra and every video released on DVD. The price is right and the packaging is small and compact. I like this DVD because I can take the music and the videos with me with ease.
