4awesome!!!!!!!  Sep 23, 2006
With how the movie dissapointed us the soundtrack made up for all of the crap. This is hands down one of the greatest soundtracks to be released for a movie. I mean come on it's METAL ALL OVER plus tons of previously unreleased tracks. My only regret is what's up with the Nothingface and Spineshank songs they have harder tracks on those albums than that!!!!!!!!!! The best tracks are: Hatebreed's - "Condemned until Rebirth" Slipknot's - "Snap" Murderdolls' - "Welcome to the Strange" Devildriver's - "Swinging the Dead" Sepultura's - "The Waste" and Lamb of God's "11th Hour". If you want a good taste of modern metal buy this soundtrack.

PARTY ON!!!!!!!!!

4Could have been better...but still damn good  Feb 03, 2006
THis is one of the better compilation soundtracks out there because of the wide range of versitality these bands represent. They are not all the same and are not all generic but wach one brings something different to the soundtrack as a whole...the only problem is some of them don't bring enough and others don't bring what you'd expect them to bring...and still others bring enough to raise the rating a few stars so heres my run through.

1. How Can I Live - Ill Nino

What could have been a promising start lacks what Ill Nino possessed with their debut...edge. This song is too catchy and too melodic and I like melodic, but this just does not work for Ill Nino. I was dissapointed because I've come to expect so much from this band and this falls way short.

2. When Darkness Falls - Killswitch Engage

Classic Killswitch...brutal and in your face...Great track!

3. Beginning of the End - Spineshank

Problem here, the same as with Ill Nino...they just don't live up to the potential they had...and my big complaint is that this song is pulled from the 'Self Destructive Pattern' album and the rest of that album is killer so they could have picked any other song off the album and I would have been happy.

4. Sun Doesn't Rise - Mushroomhead

Great song. I love this band. They are so strange and unique and that makes them awsome. When the guy starts rapping sort-of he reminds me of David from Disturbed off 'The Sickness' album...

5. Condemned Until Rebirth - Hatebreed

One of the greatest bands ever...pure brutality and this is no exception. This guy has such a primal voice...awsome!

6. Snap - Slipknot

Um...sux...sorry. I used to love Slipknot too but this is just crap. The production is horrid. You can tell this was put together in a garage. Skip it.

7. Army of Me - Chimaira

This band is one to watch for. Awsome. These guys are the deffinition of what brutal metal should be. Their riffs are straight in your face and masacistic almost...love it..

8. The After Dinner Payback - From Autumn To Ashes

I had never heard of these guys before. The rise in Emo has given birth to some great bands and this is one of them...The only problem is that they all tend to sound alike...But for what it's worth this is a pretty decent song with some great drumming.

9. Leech - Sevendust

Sevendust is one awsome band and if you get the chance to see them live I'd recomend it. This song does what Sevendust does best....put out great melodic rock. Nice track.

10. Bombshell - Powerman 5000

This song is off the album that was never released...the one that was supposed to follow 'when the stars revolt' but never made it due to heavy downloading and the band going in another direction musically...turning away from the space-rock type thing. If you liked 'when worlds collide' or anything off that album you'll like this song.

11. We Were (Electrocute) - Type O Negative

Hate it...boring and stupid...don't know what the hype is about this horrid band. SKIP IT!

12. Welcome to the Strange - Murderdolls

Don't much care for it. To think that the guitarest for Slipknot is in this band is kinda odd since they are really more of a goth/punk band. The lead singer sux really really bad. Skip it.

13. Out Of My Way - Seether

Love this band and love this song. These guys are a really decent band with a lot of potential. This song has a great lead guitar work and Shawns voice is just so soothing...I love this song!

14. Inside The Cynic - Stone Sour

Not a fan of Stone Sour...thought their CD was crap, but this song is listenable. Probably the best they've ever done. The drumming is pretty cool...but Cory's voice gets a little annoying. The chorus saves it from mediocracy.

15. Swinging The Dead - Devildriver

The introduction to DevilDriver and isn't it sweet. This is one awsome song, brutal and in your face and shows your right off the bat what these guys are bringing to the table. You can't help but chant along with the chorus.

16. The Waste - Sepultura (With Mike Patton)

Creepy. The lead singer in this song sounds like Spider from Powerman...but it's not...anyways, it's heavy and eerie and fits nice. I like it. Different than the rest of the album.

17. Middle Of Nowhere - The Blank Theory

I had never heard of these guys before. I really like this song. It's pretty mainstream nu-metal sounding, like bands like Trapt and such but it's still pretty cool. Catchy, you'll be singing along before you know it. I like the whisling in the background. The lead singer has a cool voice...recently these guys split and started a new band...can't remember what they're called though...opps. Good song though and they're CD is really tight too.

18. Ether - Nothingface

Awsome. These guys have been kicking around for a while and I've liked them for a while too...saw them play live when I lived in FL and they kicked it. This is off their 'Skeletons' album, but check out thier 'Violence' CD and their 'Atrocity' CD...Those kick major @$$...this song is much more mellow than their normal stuff...don't be fooled...these guys are brutality at it's finest.

19. Trigger - In Flames

Not a real fan. I skip it...well mostly because the next, and final song is the best on the CD...A good note is that the guitar work is pretty brutal...thats it though. The guys voice is crap and annoying.

20. 11th Hour - Lamb Of God

One of the best bands ever! These guys are just brutal beyond brutal. The lead singer has the coolest screams and growls and the musicianship is steller...fast and brutal and perfect. You won't find any better than here...

All in all this is a decent album with some low points but the high points like...LAMB OF F@#$ING GOD make up for it!

5The best movie soundtrack I've ever heard!  Sep 05, 2005
I'm not going to type a long review explaining it, so I'll just do a track listing.

1.ill nino-How Can I Live:5/5 Great song from a great band.

2.Killswitch Engage-When Darkness Falls:5/5 Starts out real fast and heavy, but slows way down and gets really medolic. Great mix of fast and slow.

3.Spineshank-The Beggining of the End:4/5 One of the slower songs, but really catchy and it will probably get stuck in your head.

4.Mushroomhead-Sun Doesn't Rise:5/5 Another good song from a really cool band. Catchy.

5.Hatebreed-Condemned untill Rebirth:4/5 I'm not a big fan of "hardcore" metal, but this is another catchy song.

6.Slipknot-Snap:3/5 Slipknot is one of my favorite nu-metal bands but, this song is really repetitve and annoying. But, it's an unrealeased track from them so if your a 'knot fan, it's just cool to hear it.

7.Chimara-Army of Me:4/5 I really like Chimera but they have better songs. Still a damn good listen though.

8.From Autumn to Ashes-The After Dinner Payback:4/5 I dont really like this band much but this song is pretty good. Classic metalcore.

9.Sevendust-Leech:5/5 Your typical Sevendust song.

10.Powerman 5000-Bombshell:3/5 I don't like their style of metal that much but this song is alright.

11.Murderdolls-Welcone to the Strange:3/5 Again, I don't really like this band but this song is OK.

12.Seether-Out of My Way:4/5 surprisingly good for Seether.Super catchy.

13.Stone Sour-Insidehe Cynic:5/5 It's Cory Taylor other band, of course it's going to be good.

14.Devildriver-Swinging the Dead:5/5 Take Coal Chamber vocalist and put him into a better, harder hitting band. AWESOME!

15.Sepultra-The Waste:5/5 Not your Typical Sepultra, much slower, but still great.

16.The Blank Theory-Middle of Nowhere:4/5 Good but not great.

17.Nothingface-Ether:5/5 Slow, but still an awesome song from a great band.

18.In Flames-Trigger:6/5 One of my favorite songs from my favorite band. Fast and melodic. Classic IF.

19.Lamb of God-11th Hour:10/5 Its Lamb of God at their finest.

20.Type O' Negative-We were(electocute)4/5 Maybe the slowest song on the CD but still a good listen.

Once again, the greatest soundtrack ever.
