KEVON - 24/7 Oct 13, 2008 This is one of my favorite CDs! I love Kevon's music! It has Babyface written all over it! He does a great job on each song and sings with such energy you can't believe. I listen to this CD a lot and I think it is worth the buy, you won't be disappointed! I wish he would record another CD and do it soon. On a scale of 1-5 with 5 highest....I rate this one "5". This CD also has a lot of "love ballards" and a few neo soul sounds on some of the music. Over all 24/7 is really a GREAT CD!!!
Very dissapointing. Next time I won't be so easy as to purchase something based on one song. Sep 19, 2008 Because I usually don't do that anymore but I figured that 24/7 was great, so the album would be at least good. But it's fluffy and predictable.
Never Love You -- Don't remember it. 2.5/5
Love Will Be Waiting -- Kind of a nice blur to me. 3.5/5
24/7 -- Great single. I hope the rest of the album is like this. Or at least some of the remaining songs. 4.5/5
When I'm With You -- A fluffy, boring blur. 2.5/5
How Often -- Another mushy mid-tempo. These songs are so fluffy. 3/5
Baby Come To Me -- A mushy standout. Nice vocals. 4/5
A Girl Like You -- A lot of these songs are mid-tempos and sound alike. Very cliche lyrics. 2.5/5
I Want You More -- The first dance track. It's OK. 3/5
No Love (I'm Not Used To) -- If you want something to snooze to, buy this CD. It's very soft...too soft if you're just sitting here, listening to it while on the net like I am. 3/5
Sensitive Mood -- Sounds like I've heard it before. 2.5/5
Anyway -- More upbeat than the rest of the tracks but still doesn't stand out. Boring lyrics. 3/5
Tell Me -- The closer to this CD. Has an OK rhythm. 3.5/5
All I've really got to say is that I'm so let down. This CD is one big, slow mid-tempo blur. Only 24/7, Baby Come to Me and I Want You More stand out as being different, and that's not necessarily saying they were all good songs though cause they weren't.
3.125 stars.
end note: Don't look into this CD at all unless you want to fall asleep. Those who download, get 24/7, Love Will Be Waiting and Baby Come To Me.
24/7 Smooth! Dec 23, 2007 I loaned this CD to friend a few years ago and never got it back, so I kind of forgot about it. Recently I heard 24/7 on the air and thought, "I've got to put that Cd in rotation again." But it was long gone... I purchased another copy, and it sounded new all over again. So refreshing to hear GOOD, QUALITY R&B, from someone who can truly sing. I've always enjoyed After 7 and Face, but this is so smooth, so cool, just great music to groove to. I'm NOT loaning this to anyone, so get your own copy...now! dlm
Great music! Jan 13, 2007 I wish that there were more stars to give, this is the only cd that I permanently leave in my cd changer. I just think his voice is incredible and soothing. I listen to it SO much that this is my third copy I am purchasing. I have to get one for the car and one for the house. There is not one track that I don't love.
Great from start to finish.
What ever happened to him? I am fiending for some more of his beautiful music!
Edmonds shines on his first solo CD Nov 19, 2006 As a member of the great group After 7, Kevon Edmonds sung lead on classic slow jams Ready Or Not, Gonna Love You Right and countless others. He emerged as a solo artist in 1999 with his excellent 24-7 CD. Edmonds velvet falsetto shines on the lead single 24-7 which was a huge single back in 99. Edmonds has an appealingly sophisticated spin on contemporary urban soul, never pushing the music too hard and keeping everything smooth and suave. Fortunately, there aren't too many weak moments on the album and no guest rappers. The opening trilogy of "Never Love You," "Love Will Be Waiting," and "24/7," plus the Babyface duet "A Girl Like You" -- 24/7 showcases Edmonds as a sweetly ingratiating urban crooner.
