P.O.D. does it all Dec 12, 2008 This CD features alot of different sounds from this versatile group. I normally like the hard rock sound of P.O.D.'s earlier albums but I really liked the slower more heartfelt songs like Shine with Me, It Can't Rain Everyday, and End of the World. Of course there are some harder rock songs like addicted and some hip hop sounds as well. This is a great CD.
Too much hype Dec 03, 2008 When Marcos made his return to POD last year it surprised me that he was back in the band. I was thinking of the type of music that the band would make if they decided to make their first album together in 4 years. A year passes and in April 2008, When Angels and Seperants Dance was released. The single was Addicted which was very catchy and showed promised for the album. Its not a bad album it has a few good songs like Tell Me Why which is an acoustic song the first with lyrics that's on a POD record. God Forbid is the heaviest song on the album and sounds like it should be on Satellite. POD of today isn't the same band that they were in 1992, they are more mature and it shows in the album. It sounds more like a pop album with a mix of reggae and hard music. Think Testify but with a mixed of Southtown. I was expecting a hard hitting album that is honest but got a different more mature POD sound. Maybe next time, the band really should go back to their roots.
Good not Great Sep 27, 2008 I was really looking forward to this album. I was interested to hear what Marcos would bring to the mix since coming back. I have always liked P.O.D since Fundemental Elements so its hard for me to write a negative review. This album has some good songs but overall I think its there weakest album yet - Sonny's voice is not sounding that great in a couple tracks. Worth listen but not one that I can play & play. I look forward to their next offering.
A very bland and weak album Sep 22, 2008 There's nothing new here at all...Very little energy or excitement in this album...Very dissappointed that I actually preordered this album...Lyric wise its very safe..There sure not trying to take a stand for anything in this album..Don't want to piss anybody off now do we..That would be a real shame to actually sing about the truth you started with..Now your just a politically correct band with a luke warm message....Hope you find the real meaning behind your band before the next album..

not the old P.O.D. anymore.. Sep 12, 2008 Hi. I preordered this album, and I thought I would get something similar to what P.O.D. used to be before Truby came in.
I got a little dissapointed.
Here I'm not gonna talk about the lyrics, cause I'm a musician, and the first thing that I notice in an album is the musical part.
Please, with the 3 stars don't get me wrong. It's probably not a bad album, it has some good songs, and a lot of them are really enjoyable, there's "Shine With Me", "Condescending", "Addicted", and some others that people like, and I have to say, those are actually good songs.
The 3 stars are simply because, it's probably good music, but IT'S NOT P.O.D.
I expected some more heavier stuff, more clean effects and riffs from Marcos, and I expected the CD to be musically a little more complex. It's not what you'll find here. Don't expect the old P.O.D., cause i have to say, the old P.O.D. is gone, and I can talk this way cause I've been a fan since Southtown, and the older albums were good as well, I've listened to them all. Even with Truby in Testify, songs like "Roots In Stereo", "Lights Out" and "Strength Of My Life", and if we go back to "Satellite", "Alive", "The Messenger", "Southtown", "Rock The Party"...... THAT'S the kind of sound I'm expecting from P.O.D.
There's only one song that I really like on this album, and it's "Tell Me Why", it's an acoustic, but beautiful song, and I'm glad I have it with me. I don't remember any acoustic song previously released by P.O.D., not counting Guitarras de Amor, or Eternal, I'm talkin about songs with lyrics.
Give the CD a try, you'll probably enjoy it. But don't expect the old P.O.D.
