Description:

"Scary Kids Scaring Kids have spent the last three years touring and cultivating one of the most rabid fan bases in rock n' roll. Their debut album The City Sleeps in Flames has gone on to sell over 100,000 units to date. Admired by critics and fans alike for the band's heaviness coupled with a warming melodic sensibility The City Sleeps in Flames quickly became a hard driving favorite album for music fans in the new alternative rock community.

Scary Kids Scaring Kids is famous for its stage antics and powerful two guitar assault. Word of their live show spread throughout the community which caught the eyes and ears of many big bands and in turn landing high profile tours with Red Jumpsuit Apparatus, Silverstein, Emery, Funeral For a Friend and Warped Tour.

In April 2007 Scary Kids entered the studio to record their self-titled sophomore album with multi platinum producer Don Gilmore (Linkin Park, Dashboard Confessional, Pearl Jam, Good Charlotte). Don's production led the band to a newfound confidence and distinctive mature sound. The record shows that the band can seamlessly go from punk/hardcore indie darlings to mainstream rock n' roll music makers. "

5Scary Kids Scary Kids  Jul 21, 2008
I LOVE This CD! It's definitely on my top five list (. . .at least for the moment). The entire album just seems so much . .cleaner and crisper than the previous one (don't get me wrong. I loved that too). I loved how the songs kind of just flowed together . . .There were also *gasp* Messages in the songs. . . .Sure there were the generic emo-ish "love" and "angst" songs, but the nice beats, melodies, and not steotypical messages (which there were . .though I might have like the messages more if I were a dude . .I dunno) made up for it entirely. That's another thing. People tend to associate Scary Kids Scaring Kids with screamo . .. which makes sense I guess . . .They *do* scream occassionally, but I feel they are so much more than a typical screamo band. They don't scream that often for one . .and when they scream it's not that whiny shrill kind of scream . . .I don't know . .The singing just seems to be too melodic and (pardon me for the use of this term) "pretty" to be . . .screamo (I mean there's nothing wrong with scream . ."to each his (or her) own" is what I like to say.). My point is that if you don't like screamo, don't let that scare you away from this cd. It's too good to let the (occassional)
screaming get in the way.

Anyways, I strongly recommend this CD (I would recommend songs, but I like them all!). However, take in note that I am simply a reviewer and you, ultimately, should decide on your own. Thus, I would even more strongly recommend that you check out Scary Kids Scaring Kids first before you make the purchase . .purevolume, youtube, their website, and even here (at amazon) has at least clips of their songs that you can check out. Good luck with your decision. I know you'll make the right choice . .*wink wink nudge nudge*

Peace Out,
Ronnie <3

5Truly good music  Jul 12, 2008
i bet the guy who wrote the last review was the guy who got is girl stolen and is just a little but hurt. this band is sick. i mean seriously the are pretty diverse in style. so i would highly recommend the to anyone for fans of the following drop dead gorgeous, devil wears prada, or lovehatehero. check em out.

5Pretty Damn Good.  Jun 13, 2008
This isn't the best CD in the world; the tracks are somewhat similar-sounding (I love "Deep End" and "Watch Me Bleed" - I'm emo fer sure), but if you like the sound of one, you'll love the rest. Be sure to click the Amazon music sampler and it will take you less than a minute to find out if you love 'em or not.

4Not taking the common road, well, sorta  Jan 21, 2008
Scary Kids Scaring Kids coming off of there post-hardcore album "The City Sleeps In Flames" could've easily done a repeat of what, I'm sure the fans expected, just another heavly influened metal album w/ long guitar solos and lots of screaming.

Thankfully SKSK decided to expand their horizons beyond the traditonal cliche metal they could've produced once more, and for that reason my hat goes off to them. Not only did they decide to call this their self-titled album displaying their "newer" sound but they succeed in developing a striking new sound for themselves. I must say that the slower songs don't hold the attention barrier that the faster paced ones do, and the mid-section here feels sluggish, but w/ 16 songs this is expected. This album really shows whats in store for Scary Kids Scaring Kids future.

5Scary Kids Rockin It Again  Jan 19, 2008
Could this album be any better, maybe, but they have to leave room for improvement. Which is what they keep doing. If you're a fan of any of their old music, then you will love this album. If you've never heard their music, you should still love this album.
