A Complete Classic With New Cover Art ... Aug 24, 2007 When this album first came out I had never heard any of the cuts on the radio, I heard "Do You Want To Get Funky With Me" in a GREAT dance club one time. I approached the D.J. and asked for album title, cut title and artist and went to the record store the next day and bought the album. I was NOT disappointed. The entire LP was well worth it and immediately became one of my favorites. I taped my vinyl and I wore out several cassettes before I later added the CD to my collection. My vinyl is pristine and I intend to keep it that way. I LOVED the original Cover Art...with this release the original cover art has been replaced with a modern pic of Peter, which is great but, I think this was a faux pas as it confused even me when I went looking for the release on CD. I overlooked it twice when I didn't recognize the new cover art. I worried that it might be a newly recorded version of the LP. I think this deserved a little more deluxe CD release and if they were going to change the cover art, they should have at least included it in the CD booklet. It wasn't until I was assured by at least two or three of the employees at two different stores that it was the actual "original recording" with new cover art that I took the plunge. I now wish I hadn't taken so long to be convinced. It's too bad that more of Peter's music isn't available on CD. The ONLY plus of the CD over the vinyl is I now no longer have to get up and turn the LP over to listen to the other side! There are no bad cuts on this album and it is a pleasure to listen to from begining to end in one sitting. This CD is an absolute MUST for anyone into Dance, Disco, Funk, R & B, Jazz or any lover of upbeat, well crafted Pop music. I think it's unfortunate that Peter Brown didn't reach a larger mass audience than he did. He is truly underappreciated. Most folks that I play this CD for instantly remember one, if not two or three of the cuts, but, never knew who they were listening to. Most have gone on to buy their own copy of this to wear out! YOU SHOULD TOO!
Cool Disco Jul 06, 2007 This CD is full of catchy R&B/Disco from late 1970's, and still sounds good today. Even the slow songs are good. I really liked 'Dance With Me' back in 1979, but remember all of the tunes from the vinyl days.
Coming of age and coming around again. May 06, 2006 Last night while doing a crossword puzzle, "A Fantasy Love Affair" skipped across my mind. All of the music from the album came back to me, including the cover. Back when it was released, finding a picture of Peter Brown wasn't easy, but it didn't matter. I knew by the time I heard the words "Tired of living...". It's all about the groove.

Peter Brown... Apr 14, 2006 As with many others, I went for "Do You Wanna Get Funky With Me." But fell for "Fantasy Love Affair," "Dance With Me," "For Your Love (a really good song)," "You Should Do It" and "Singer Becomes a Dancer." Why the other cuts were never played on radio, I'll never figure out! I found the CD in "Tower Records" some years back - I almost screamed, myself! Also, the other reviewers made a valid point. I had NO CLUE that Peter Brown was Caucasian. I only found that out when his next effort came out. He was truly one of those people whose sound was genuinely urban.
For the curious, he supposedly has 50% writing credit for Madonna's song "Material Girl." We all know how big that was! So maybe, just maybe he doesn't have to work? If you listen to the background vocals, you realize that Peter Brown's touch is there (somewhat similiar to "Crank it Up" by Peter Brown). In closing, I rate the album Five Stars - for me, "Fantasy Love Affair" is tops in the Pop/Disco/Dance Genre!!
Oldie but Goodie Feb 26, 2006 I bought this CD because when I was younger, I owned the vinyl LP of Peter Brown's "Fantasy Love Affair". I played it so much that it became ruined. I was so glad to stumble across the CD on a website that sent me to Amazon.com.
